Who Are We?
We are a diverse group with one thing in common, Miatas! We consist of people of all ages and walks of life. Some join the Club for social reasons, others for our fun drives, and others for the hard core customizing and motor sports events we participate in. Our member’s vehicles range from the purist who feel the best Miata is a bone stock to those who have fire breathing turbo charged Miatas that intimidate V-8s! Please feel free to join us on our next gathering to see first hand what we’re all about. You may also contact any of the officers if you have any questions. Peruse our web site and enjoy. Look for exciting new developments both online and in the Club activities. Feel free to offer any feedback. Now stop looking at this website and go drive your Miata! Latest club newsSaturdays evening drive along River road drew 6 cars. We began with a short tour through Baton Rouge along the river and the LSU lake area. We crossed the campus and headed down river road. The weather was good but we did run across a light shower just before we got to the restaurant. Dinner was at Roberto's in Sunshine. Roberto's is in a quaint old building with excellent food. I think the service was good and a table had been set up and arranged for our arrival. Leaving the restaurant we drove about 5 minutes back north to the Plaquemine ferry and took a sunset cruise across the Mississippi River. We followed the river road south to White Castle and then some backroads back to Plaquemine. We took a ride up Hwy 77 along the moonlit bayou to the visitors center at Gross Tete where we said good night and headed home. A good dinner, good friends, great evening. Good news for the Gap loves in the club. The rock slide on the Tennessee side of the dragon has been cleaned up and 129 is now open. Just in time for Dragon Hunting season. Even better news is that Tapoco Lodge has a new owner and they are going to reopen in 2011. There is already talk about a road trip for Miatas at the Gap 16. I'm wondering if we will still be able to get our rooms? Now go drop the top, and go for a drive!
